Quinn Downes Installations: Estimating Manager

Quinn Downes Group are a leading National provider of Mechanical Service Installations to high-profile clients across Ireland. We have an exciting opportunity for an Estimating Manager to join our expanding team.

This person will be a member of the senior management team, and there will be an expectation that they will get involved in how the business works and runs, providing input on how to improve a smoother running of projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing the entire tendering process from initiation to conclusion.
  • Compiling precise and well-organised estimates and proposals promptly.
  • Ensure the tenders are submitted and processed on time, follow up on tenders and documents, and record any feedback.
  • Issue tender queries and prepare tender reports.
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the cost database.
  • Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc).
  • Keep informed with developments in the industry.
  • Participate in the development of procedures to ensure a high standard of quality control in the documents produced by the Estimating Department.
  • Manage & mentor members of the Estimating Team.

Desired Criteria

  • 4+ Years Mechanical Estimating experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and in at least one of the more widely used Estimating Platforms.
  • Attention to detail and high-quality standards are required.
  • Ability to identify potential risks on a project
  • Be a motivated and highly dependable individual.
  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
  • Full drivers’ licence is advantageous.
